Get rid of pigmented lips naturally
Soft smooth pink lips are what most of us desire
for!! They can be center of attention while you talk and meet
someone just like the way our eyes are noticed. But at times there can be some factors like aging, drinking too
much tea or coffee, smoking, using certain lip products etc which can cause lips to get darkened. Not only females but it
can also effect males as well! I recently got one such E-mail regarding it.
And a couple of months ago, I realized that my upper lip
got a bit dark as compared to my lower lip therefore, whenever I use to apply a lip color/lipstick, the shade on the upper
lip would be always a tad darker than the lower one.
I have incorporated some of these handy
home remedies and tips to lighten the dark lips in my daily night skin care as I feel night is the best time to use such remedies and they can work extremely well while you are asleep and your body is rejuvenating!
Here they are:
Lime juice is said to be a natural bleaching agent
and can also reduce the darkness from the lips. You can use it at night. Only a couple of drops of lemon juice (undiluted) should be fine. Just rub it all across the lips. It can be left
overnight and shows really great results. As per my experience, this is the best solution for pigmentation not only for your pigmented lips but for the face too!
You can rub strawberries on your lips in scrubbing
motion. And let the juice soak in your lips for about 30 minutes and then you
can rinse it off. Strawberries have enzymes that help in getting rid of the
darkness on the lips. If you wish you can keep it overnight too, it will work even better.
Using a lip scrub regularly to get rid of dryness and
flakiness is a good idea that can also lighten the pigmentation on the lips. You can make your own lip scrub by
mixing some sugar with honey and gently massaging it all over the lips. Try not to be over harsh especially around the corners of the mouth. This
will fade the darkness on your lips soon.
You can also use raw milk with some salt in it. Take
a teaspoonful of milk and add half a pinch of salt in it. Massage gently and
then let it be on your lips and surrounding area for 15 minutes, rinse off! Lactic acid in the milk helps in lightening the dark lips.
I have also used castor oil and Jojoba oil at night
on my lips and they are no less than the above mentioned treatments. In fact, Jojoba oil is also used in
majority of the lip balms as it gives moisture and makes lips smoother and pinker. This can be left overnight too.
Always wear your sunscreen especially around the
lips and on the lips use a lip balm with SPF whenever, you are going out in
sun to further prevent the lips getting dark.
