Whenever I think of inexpensive lipsticks that fares good, Avon simply pretty lipsticks come to my mind first, reason being, their affordability and decent pigmentation which allows me try some other colors from their range!

I will review this Avon Simply pretty lipstick in Truffle today. I had already reviewed Sangria and True rose and now, It’s truffle’s turn.

Price- 129 INR though it changes and you can get these at discount as well. Avon India keeps on coming with various combos and discounts specially around festive seasons.

The new packaging is magenta pink in color and looks girly and colorful.  It may not look classy but doesn’t look cheap at all.

This color truffle is a Brown with significant orange tones which makes it a warm burnt orange kinda color which will never wash out anyone, rather would look good with all the Indian skin tones. It has a creamy matte texture and formula is pretty hydrating wont dry out the lips. I was thinking, it is a matte color but later realized that it has some very tiny shimmers in it which are hardly visible but the shimmers does add some more texture to this shade.

With this you don’t have to worry about your lipstick settling into the fine lines or drying your lips. This color can be used for the office, college or casual day time affairs and I think it is perfect for those who want something subtle and soft on their lips.

The only thing that bothers me about these Avon Simply Pretty lipsticks is their smell which is something, I can’t say is very good. It smells chemical types but thankfully goes off after some times.

I used it around 11 am and it was there till 3 and after lunch or meal it obviously fades away with faintest on my lips before  need to reapply it. This color can also be paired with a soft smokey eyes or with bold thick eyeliner as you wont want to go heavy with eye makeup and a bright lip color too so, it can compliment looks where you want to do dramatic or bold eye makeup!

At the price, these Avon lipsticks come at, I really should not and can not complain as they were complete value for money and gives good pigmentation, decent staying power and what else do we need?

Moving on with the pros and cons of this simply pretty in Truffle

Pros:

It is very affordable that we can easily try 2-3 colors from this range without making a hole in the pockets.

Very good pigmentation that can give you a good color pay off with 2 swipes

It will not settle in the fine lines of your lips

This shade truffle will cater to everyone as it is a pretty subtle everyday type of shade that can be used for office and day time or if you don’t want too dark and bright colors

Moisturises the lips but make sure your lips are properly scrubed.

It does not bleed. 

Cons:

Argh!! Availability!! You have to look for an Avon representative

It has very mild shimmers which may not be liked by everyone though the shimmers are not noticeable much!

Smell is not pleasant but good thing is, it fades off after couple of minutes.

Rating- 4.25 out of 5

My Take- Avon Simply Pretty Lipsticks are not only affordable but also offers good pigmentation with decent formula and staying power. This shade truffle is an extremely beautiful everyday color which you wont be hesitant to wear. Give a shot to at least one from this range and hopefully you like!
