Review Ayur Herbal Moisturizer with wheatgerm oil

Hi girls,
I will review this Ayur herbal moisturizer today and it’s one of those products which I have clicked the pictures but haven’t posted so, here is it’s day today to get some lime light and may be it could be helpful for someone looking for this product.

Price- 75 rupees for 100 ml
Claims: “A perfect blend of natural ingredients to provide your skin essential vitamins and
minerals, this moisturizer is formulated with wheat germ oil, olive and turmeric
extract. Its nourishing, anti-oxidants and complexion enhancing properties keep your
skin hydrated, nourished and healthy. Good for all skin types”

This Ayur Herbals moisturizer comes in a regular flip top capped bottle that is baby pink in color and the actual product too is baby pink. By the way do you like baby pink? I have never liked that color even as a child!!

I still remember this brand is very old and my first cleansing milk was from them only! Back then, I had heard a lot about cleansing, toning, moisturizing routine and as there range of products were quite affordable, I got their cleansing milk, toner and this moisturizer, But unfortunately none of them suited me!
Now after so many year I know why they hadn’t.

I had very oily skin at that time and the cleansing milks are more suitable for normal to dry skin types, so it didn’t suit me, then the toner it was stripping even my essential oils due to which my skin use to produce more oil to balance it! that toner had alcohol even if they claim alcohol free and was very strong smelling, I will not recommend that toner to anyone, rather use Aroma magic toner.

Now, let's come to this moisturizer, it gets absorbed soon and has a very mild not irritating fragrance and they have even listed all the ingredients which many brands fail to mention.
But the point is, it can be a good moisturizer in budget for normal to dry skin though not at all for the combination to oily skin. Reason being, it contains, wheatgerm oil and Olive oil. Both of these oils are comedogenic in nature and have a high comedogenic rating.
Wheatgerm has the highest comedogenic rating. By comedogenic rating, I mean the oils potential to cause comedones and block your pores.

Not only these oils even Vitamin E (Tocopherol) has a rating high enough to cause comedones that can lead to skin problems like acne, pimples etc.
Therefore, I would say this product is not at all for oily to combination skin, though it claims to suit all skin types which isn't true!

This doesn’t make it a bad product, as wheatgerm oil, olive oil and vitamin E in it can really help dry skinned people to get softer and supple skin. It hydrates for good amount of time.
I will recommend it to dry to normal skin persons as my mum used this and it worked well!

Pros
Availability
Affordable
Okay, decent packaging
Has wheatgerm and olive oil along with Vitamin A & E
Helps nourish and hydrate dry skin
Smell is mild and pleasant not too artificial or irritating
Complete list of ingredients has been mentioned

Cons
Parabens used as preservatives
Not at ll for combination to oily skin

Rating- 3.5 out of 5

Take- Good moisturizer for dry to normal skin types due to wheatgerm and olive oils which are known to provide adequate moisture and nourishes the skin but these ingredients make it an unsuitable product for combination to oily skin!
