Revlon
Touch and Glow Moisturizing makeup Gold Mist Review
Hi
all!!
Base
makeup is extremely important whether you opt for light coverage or need something heavy to hide the flaws. I will review Revlon touch and glow foundation today
which is in the shade Gold mist.
Price-
215 INR for 20 ml Available at Flipkart HERE
Shades available- Ivory Mist, natural Mist, Gold Mist and Rose Mist
I got this 2 months ago and have not used it as I am happy with BB and cc cream from Lakme until a couple of days ago, when I thought I should try it.
Anyways,
This foundation comes in a glass bottle which is tiny enough to carry only 20 ml
of liquid but due to the glass bottle I find it a bit risky to carry it. I
think if we are travelling and would like to carry foundations in glass
bottles, we should wrap them with small towels which will provide extra safety
and also it will act as a cushion to protect the bottle.

I
have always been someone who would go for only sheer coverage no matter how bad
my skin is behaving! Cakey heavy base looks unflattering on me and I have never
been a fan of that. It looks as if you are wearing a mask and through hits and trials I have learnt that minimum is the key!

When I opened the bottle the first thing, I noticed was its fragrance. It smells like a hail oil. I mean more like jasmine oil. Due to which It always reminds me of hair oil when I use it though it claims to be water based which is the main reason I bought it, I have oily/combination skin and I dare not use non water based foundations. If you close your eyes and then smell it, I bet you will think someone has given you oil to apply on your hair!
It
is amongst those foundations that can give you sheer coverage which is averagely
buildable.
I
bought this online and the shade I thought would be my closest match would be this
one called Gold mist. It is a misleading name as in by Gold, I am sure you will too think of a shade that has prominent gold or yellow undertones as my complexion
is fair with yellow tones. Now, it is a beigey color which is still fine can
match me but To my utter surprise, it has pink tones to it!
I love sheer coverage foundations which are water based due to which till date I like Lakme foundation which matches and suits my skin perfectly and has never break me out!
Same way, I had great expectations from this, but the chameli ka oil kinda of smell and pink undertones in a shade named as Gold mist has disappointed me. When I swatched it I was like what it is?? I double checked the shade and it was the one I ordered! :/

I
still doubt that they have named Rose mist as Gold mist! I will check at the
counter to confirm and update here.
Most
of these brands has this problem that they lack yellowness in their
foundations.
Complete
list of ingredients is not there and it says only key ingredients that says it
contains Titanium oxide, talc, butylene glycol and lanolin alcohol.

It may not look that pink in the swatch but it is that I
was just thinking it could be even used as a blush, I mean cream blush lol.:D
It
has a decent staying power if you do not sweat else it will melt! I have used it
once at home just to check it and I have this feeling that it will break me out!
Though I cant say it for sure as I have not used it due to the mismatched
color. It makes me pink that looks as if I am blusing constantly even though the person due to whom, I blush is longer there. It's funny!!
Let’s
see its thumbs up and downs

It
smells like jasmine oil, I cant stand it.
This
shade is gold mist but has prominent pink tones which makes it a misleading
name wise.
It
melts when you sweat. It isn’t water proof as it is water based which is not a
con exactly though.
Rating-
2.5 out of 5
Take-
After trying touch and glow compact I had decent expectations but it smells
like hair oil and names are misleading which makes it a disappointing
purchase. Good thing is it water based and blends really quickly but mismatched
and limited shades can not be compensated with its blending ability. I will not
recommend it!!
Will skip it niesha, wanted to try it good you posted a review.
ReplyDeleteI m glad that the review came at the right time!
Deleteoohhhoo :( bad one .. even I hate jasmine oil smell...overall then not for me also , Nice review Niesha :_
ReplyDeleteThank you kiran! :) Even I cant stand that smell at least on my face.
DeleteNice review, so bad! You are right, the shade is pinkish tone and the quality seems not good <3 Will skip it dear <3
ReplyDeleteThank you Rakhshanda!! <3 I was a disappointing product!
DeleteI thought it would be gud.. Not so!! Great review Niesh :)
ReplyDeleteThat is what I thought dear after using their touch and glow compact but it wasn't upto the expectations.
DeleteThank you darlin.:)
nice review niesha...love the shade ..seems to be a decent product....
ReplyDeleteIt is decent if the shade matches which I dont think as they dont have yellowness in them and the smell is a turn off for me!
DeleteI'd skip this Neisha, thanks for sharing the review. Why is the cap shining, what have you done, it's looking so cute :)
ReplyDeletehehe I think it's due to the pearly background reflection dear.:)
DeleteThis is a very old variant, i remeber mommy used to wear it when i was a child! :D
ReplyDeleteEven I remember my aunt using this! :D
DeleteAhhh was waiting for this review :) I completely agree with the chameli ka tel kinda fragrance and the water based claim is misleading. I have oily t-zone and every time I applied it, it clogged my pores so bad I had never seen my nose breaking out before. And it went in a series. The strange thing was the break out used to happen a day or two after applying and I have this in ivory. I had thought it would be too white but strangely it matches me perfectly except in pics it comes out too white sometimes. And you are right, the compact is much better dear.
ReplyDeleteI know Gagan! :) I used it once an it didn't break me out but still I wrote that I have this intuition that it will break out. After trying so many product and knowing my skin, this much now, I can predict.lol:)
DeleteTheir Compact is such a great product and due to that it I tried this as most of the foundations matches me even if I buy them online but this has a misleading name and I thought Ivory will be lighter.
They should understand if they are launching it in India, even if it is an old product, they should have changed the shades with yellow tones instead of the pinks.
Yes Niesha I was surprised about the shade revelation after reading your review. And even in the pic, it is looking quite rosy in the bottle itself.
DeleteSuch a misleading name that was!! and the product was a dud even if it matched me.
Deletei was thinking of buying it but now not use it... thanks niesha :)
ReplyDeleteNo dear, it isn't worth the money!
DeleteAwww it is bad da that the shades name doesn't match with what they are originally :(
ReplyDeleteNice Review and clicks dear <3
Thank you Radha! names are misleading na.:(
DeleteThe quality doesnt look good.. defnitely skippingg!! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is worth skipping dear!!
Deletethanks for the review niesha
ReplyDeletePleasure dear!!
DeleteOh I always thought this would be good... will be so weird using somethign on the face that has a hair oil smell..
ReplyDeleteIs the Lakme one nice for oily skin Niesha? Does it photograph ok? (i have sed their souffle but did not like it) I need to get a foundation and I like sheer coverage too, do advise :)
That is what I thought Swati after using their touch and glow compact which was amazing product.:)
DeleteI haven't used it for photographs as it was pinky on me..:(
Lakme perfecting liquid is really good for oily skin as it water based will not clog pores and stays pretty decently and also it's so cheap that there is no harm in trying it dear!
:)
Okie, I am going to try it :) Thank you.
DeleteI tried this long long time ago. Totally agree with you here Niesha :) Its worth a skip!
ReplyDeletehai na!! mujhe laga hi tha!! Most of us will have the same thoughts.:)
Deletewhat a waste :)
ReplyDeleteyup!! it is a dud!!
DeleteI have tried this one and didn't like it either :) Doesn't stay on oily skin.
ReplyDeleteBut this can be used as a blush is great ...hehehehe :) loved the review!!
Thanks darlin! :) I mean its so subtle pink that i thought it can be used that way.:)
DeleteNicee review girl. Why can't companies put complete ingredient lists on their products?! I hate it when they do that, feels like they are hiding something from us no?
ReplyDeletexx
Thank a lot Sahana!! :) I so agree.. why they hide the ingredients list. i mean if someone has allergies with a particular ingredient then at least they can see no.
Deleteahh too bad it didnt work for you. the foundation has pink undertones :/
ReplyDeleteYup! that's true Arshi! :(
DeleteOh my ...yes if its named gold ,then why the pink undertones!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review Niesha! I will skip it!
wohi to!! I am not able to understand why they give such misleading names..
Deleteworth skipping dear!!
Nice detailed review.. this one is definitely not a must have :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot dear!! no it isn't worth!
Deleteyour reviews are always so beautifully drafted and are really informative Niesha. Thanks for the review :) this product doesnt look good enough so no chance of purchasing it :) you saved my money ;) hehe
ReplyDeleteoh thanks a ton dear!! I m glad you liked.:)
DeleteGood to hear! :)
Ohhh a dud from Revlon. Thanx for the review dear !
ReplyDeletehehe.. yup!! it is dear!
Deletehaaww..what a dud!
ReplyDeleteYup!! it is !
DeleteAh. Sad about the smell. And... Its always so hard to find the right foundation shade online.
ReplyDeleteI so agree Jeevitha! I mean most of the shades work for me the only thing I need a bit of yellowness, but with this the pink tones and the smell was a turn off.
Deletejasmine scent??? can't stand it too... nice review dear :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sangy!! Sachi yaar, imagine a foundation with a hair oil kind of smell.. :)
DeleteNot a decent product :( Thanks for the informative review...
ReplyDeleteThanks dear! :)
DeleteNicely reviewed Niesh :) Its such a dud would skip it :(
ReplyDeleteI had used the whipped cream which worked lovely as base product for few weeks for me until I reviewed it ;) and later caused breakouts - I don't quite trust their base products
It is dear! :(
DeleteI tried whipped cream at the store but the texture and formula even if that was great has made me feel that it will break me out! ow, even I dont think I should. I will stick to my BBs and CCs then as they give sheer coverage that I need and dont break me out i have tried 4 of them so far.
Jasmine oil smell.. ewkkk
ReplyDeleteI dislike that smell!
DeleteNice and honest review ;) I'm not buying it ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you Egle!! :) Not worth dear.
Deletesuch a dud!
ReplyDeleteNeisha , the Revlon photoready foundation is much better from what I have heard and did the Lakme cc cream suit you? Coz when I tried at the shop it did not spread evenly on my skin so I went for the Garnier BB cream instead. Neisha I am doing a tag " what are your college/work beauty essentials" I have shared my essentials on my blog , you can either leave a comment on my blog about your beauty essentials or do a post your self . I would love to know your beauty essentials
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for the suggestion! Yes, CC cream suits me a lot better infact most of the BBs too that i have tried. You have to try to blend it more and give it some seconds it will match and suit your complexion!
DeleteSure, I will visit and comment soon !
okiz will try :)
DeleteGood one nisha. chameli oil...nai nai
ReplyDeleteI was like double nahi nahi...:)
DeleteOh!
ReplyDeleteWhen I Am In The Mood, I Go For Full Coverage Makeup.. But To Make it Look Natural, A LOT OF Blending Goes Into It..
Lol! Hair Oil! :P
Bad It Didn't Fare Well :-s
Exactly!! It does smells like hair oil and that too chameli ka tel! lol :D
DeleteI think Lacto Calamine is better than this.... Lol.. its a dud as u say.. will surely nt get this ever!!! nice detailed review as always Niesha :)
ReplyDeletehehe!! Right!! Thank you Natasha! :)
DeleteI have thought about it so many times & now I know for sure I shouldnt pick it up...
ReplyDeleteLovely Review Niesha!
Ahh I m glad you didn't pick it up! I dislike it becoz of the smell and misleading name.
DeleteThank you dear!!
I had my eyes on it..like forever..
ReplyDeleteGood I didn't give it a go..
U saved me Nish!
Thank you Aditi!! It isn't worth our money dear! :) lakme perfecting and invisible is far more better than this.
DeleteHey I am the same way , I Look really bad with heavy coverage or even moderate coverage, I look best with tinted moisturizer,bb cream type stuff.
ReplyDeleteI Wanted to buy this, will skip it.
Do give it a try!! I like my skin with sheer base even if some imperfections are peeping through, but at least skin should look like skin!
