Rimmel
London Stay Matte Compact Powder Review
Hi
everyone!
If
you are an oily skinned beauty then you may know how important compacts can be
to mattify and keep the skin matte throughout the day. I will review this Rimmel London stay matte compact which
was launched along with their other products in India.
I
was really surprised by how affordable their prices were in INR and this
compact was on my mind for quite a long time but bad luck would hit me everytime
I would go to buy it, as the shades lighter and darker were available and my
shade was always out of stock. At last I got it a couple of weeks ago. Feels really
good when you get something you have been after for quite a long time! :D
If
you are wondering where to buy these online, then you can check Slassy.com,
Rimmel London cosmetics are available on their site. It was earlier 190 INR but
now the price says 230, I can imagine why that is, as ever since this range was
launched in India they were selling like hot cakes. :D and also an imported
product so cheap and affordable deserves that. Isn’t it?

They
have got one more shade I think, which is Translucent,
I really wanted to try that one, but it isn’t available in India as of yet. So,
I got Sandstorm 004 for me. It was
an online purchase but thankfully the shade matched my face color perfectly. Happy
me!!
It
comes with a transparent Lid and beige
colored body. It looks okay but isn’t classy though. However, the actual
product makes it a star. Before telling you about the powder itself, you may
have seen that it lacks a puff. I like using my compact with puff while I am touching
up and while I am getting ready, I sweep it across using a powder brush or a
kabuki. Like both the ways but using a
powder brush can give a more natural and even finish which I like but it kind
of takes extra seconds as compared with the puff!
This
Pressed powder has a very light and smooth texture which just dissolves
flawlessly in the skin without making you look made up or anything like that. I
am someone who doesn’t want heavy coverage as I am more into sheer light
coverage so that my skin can feel and look like skin, I don’t mind even if some
occasional pimple marks are shining through unless there is a grand ceremony to
attend. :D

So,
at times I will use a sunscreen and only this compact. By the way, you may not
have noticed as the camera failed to reveal the fact that it has very tiny shimmer
particles in it. Now, Don’t raise your brow, if you are not a fan of shimmers
as the shimmers in this is very finely milled and is hardly visible but it does
help creating a subtle glow when the particles reflects light and at the same
time compact makes your skin matte.
I
am using it all the time since I got it and love its light texture. But one
thing here, it does not control oil for so long, as in your skin will start
secreting oil within 2-3 hours. Other than that it is a steal at the price.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Compact Pressed Powder Review |
It’s
so cheap and affordable that I will suggest it to everyone and also there are
so many shades to choose from, that you won’t need an excuse not to try it out!
Still if you want something similar as in the light weight texture. I would
suggest try Revlon Touch and Glow Moisturizing compact and even our desi brand Lakme has 2
such compacts at very low price which I have tried and genuinely liked them.
Time
for the good and the bad for the Rimmel pressed powder.
Pros
It
is very affordable.
Available
on slassy.com or Rimmel London counters.
They
have got 7 shades to choose from so, I am sure there is one shade made to match
your skin tone perfectly.
Full
list of ingredients is mentioned at the back of the pan, so check if you are
allergic to any one of the mentioned ones
Packaging
is okay not bad at all.
It
is safe and suitable for everyone and has not break me out or given me any comedones
as a complimentary gift.
Light
weight texture that blends so effortlessly that you feel you don’t have
anything on.
Very
fine shimmery light reflective particles that add a subtle glow without even
visible to the eyes.
At
the price the quantity is huge; it has 14g in it.
Cons
Lacks
a puff so, you can use a powder brush or a separate puff to use it.
It
only control oil for 2-3 hours at a max.
Rating-
4 out of 5
Take-
Here’s a Compact Pressed powder from Rimmel London that is not only affordably
cheap but also gives you 7 shades to choose from. It’s light weight formula and
barely visible shimmers makes it a perfect everyday product which has proved itself
worthy of the money spent on it, thereby making it a worth trying compact!
Sounds interesting product :) nice review niesha as always :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kiran! :)
Deletei have this with me and i love the product for the price it comes at and the quality it delivers!!
ReplyDeleteI agree Ritika! It is worth the money!
DeleteI love the effect you have got after blending the powder! It's dewy fish and I love it <3
ReplyDeleteIt has some shimmers due to which it gives a glowy finish, I guess .:)
DeleteI have this and love it to the core...
ReplyDeletegreat review niesha...missing FOTD ..<3
happy Ganesh Chaturthi dear :)
I like it too. :) Thank you dear.:)
Deletesame to you.<3
I have used this one and it has been my fav, the only issue i had was the packaging, Idk whether it was just mine, but the lid was loose and I couldnt carry it in my bag. But as on dresser I love it completely .. Nice review :)
ReplyDeleteEven my lid is loose and I was thinking it was only with mine. I think it is with every piece. Thank you Shweta! :)
Deletein my opinion its just the texture that is the usp of the product.. otherwise its similar in terms of oil control just like any other compact powder.. nice review Niesha :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely dear!! Most of the compacts dont control oil for a very long time.
DeleteThank you.:))
Nice Review Niesh :) this is My HG pressed powder
ReplyDeleteThank you Radha! :) It isn't my HG but i like it too.:)
DeleteDo You Think I Should Go For It?
ReplyDeleteI'm Asking Coz of The Shimmer Thing and I Have Unforgiving Pores on My Face :-s
Even I have pores few pores on my nose as well and shimmer is hardly there. I think you can give it shot dear :)
DeleteI guess I am the only person who didnt like this one at all! Its clings to my dry patches and just makes it look even more horrible..i found it to be way too dry :(
ReplyDeleteIts good for normal to oily skin so, I can understand Parita, it would accentuate the dry patches. Thanks for letting this know, I will update the review.:)
DeleteThe price is quite a catch. I will have to buy online because this brand has disappeared from our market. I am a big fan of compact for the sheer touch.
ReplyDeleteIn that case, you will like it. Price is really attractive for this brand.
DeleteU r tempting me to try Rimmel. Currently i am loving Faces compact! Nice review Nieshu!
ReplyDeleteThank you Meghu! :) You can try it once the faces one gets over.:)
DeleteKeep those reviews coming :)

Thank you Shirpa! :) It's really good. i like it too.
Delete7 shades!! That's gr8 :) Nice review niesh :)
ReplyDeleteThanks dear! It's good na that we have so many shades to choose from rather than the light 3 shades. :)
DeleteI have this in the same shade..nothing much special about this product...i think lakme perfect radiance is far far better than this..sorry gurls who are damn crazy about this compact
ReplyDeleteIt is decent at the price and even I would agree that if given a choice I would choose Lakme perfect radiance. It depends on personal preference though. :)
DeleteIts very economical at this price ..would give it a try when I run out of my current compact.
ReplyDeleteSure!! I hope you like it!
DeleteHave it. Love it. Can't imagine life without it. <3
ReplyDeleteGood to hear dear! :)
DeleteI am currently using this and I luuuurve this!! But the lid is a little loose...
ReplyDeleteNice review!
Thank you Sreesha! I was thinking that only mine compact's lid is loose but it seems it's with every piece.
DeleteI have read such great review about Rimmel! I would love to try their products!
ReplyDeleteThey are very affordable and good quality Demi! I hope you like them.:)
DeleteSounds really great, cant wait to try this one :-)
ReplyDeleteHope it fares well for you Rashmi! :)
DeleteHave heard so much about it. Well reviewed Niesha :)
ReplyDeleteThanks dear! :) I wanted to try it since it was launched but my shade was always out of stock, finally got it! :)
DeleteI have dry skin with oily t-zone and powders make me look patchy and drier. But I wanted to try a very finely milled one without spending a fortune. I have no probs with the subtle shimmer and I liked how it showed up in the the blended swatch. Thanks. I will check this one out :)
ReplyDeleteI know dear, most of the compacts absorb oil and that is why dry skin gets even more dry. If you want a finely milled one then give it a try or Revlon touch and glow. I think Revlon would fare better for you.
Delete:) Thank you Gagan!
Thanks Niesha. That reminds me have you tried the Touch and Glow liquid foundation you had bought?
Delete:) Ohh I completely forgot about that. Will try soon! Thanks dear for reminding me. It might me still lying in the other drawer.:)
DeleteSeems a good product. Nice review Niesha :)
