Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel for oily skin Review
Hello
all,
Today,
I will review a sunscreen from Lotus
herbals which has a gel formula, specially formulated for normal to oily
skin. Sunscreens are very important when it comes to skin care but when you do
have oily skin then choosing a sunscreen which does not make you sweat in hot
and humid weather or make your already oily skin greasier gets tougher.
Lotus Herbals
has variety of sunscreens and I have not seen so many sunscreen variations in
any of the brands so far. I have used 2-3 of them already and when I came
across this gel formula, I had to give it a try.
Price:
245 INR for 100 gm of product.
About the Product and claims: Sunscreens have become an integral
part of our life due to the climatic changes like global warming and ozone
layer depletion and increasing environmental pollution. It is almost a rarity
to find a sunscreen lotion that is not non-oily and effective.
Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel |
Lotus herbals introduce a revolutionary
sunscreen that is oil free yet powerful sunscreen gel. The beauty of this
sunscreen gel is its contents like extracts of babchi seed that are known to provide protection against a wide
range of UV rays and also helps in improving skin pigmentation, while sea weed nourishes the skin protects it
from toxic substances and improves blood circulation making it vital to
maintaining a healthy skin. The babchi seed extract is also used to cure skin
pigmentation related diseases like vitiligo, leprosy, etc. It enables
skin to create new pigmentation when out in the open sunlight.

This Sunscreen gel is ideal for oily skin especially for the hot and humid climates. It non greasy formulation aids in fast absorption into the dermal layers giving it a lasting protection from sun’s rays thereby avoiding tanning and sun burns. So this wonderful cream is a gift to the oily skinned people helping them maintain a healthy youthful skin.
Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel |
How to use: Apply this Lotus herbals sunscreen gel all over the exposed area of your
body before facing the scorching sunlight.
Ingredients: Contains Chamomile Flower Extracts and Zinc Coated
Micro-Fine Titanium Dioxide. Rest shown in the pictures.
Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel |
My experience: This Lotus herbals safe sun sunscreen gel comes in a pump dispenser which kind of made me give it full points in packaging. It does not have any outer packaging; the bottle comes covered in a plastic sheet. This bottle with orange pump and orangey gel filled in looks very nice with a transparent cap. The bottle is very sturdy and travel friendly. Pump dispenser makes it using convenient and hygienic and you can see how much of the product is left in the bottle. It’s pump works fine and dispenses adequate product.. I mean to say it’s not loose or too tight when you press it.
Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel |
The
sunscreen is translucent orange colored gel.
It is thick enough in consistency, as the gels are supposed to be.
I
was checking its ingredients and saw that it has methyl paraben and also Dimethicone.
So, if you are allergic to dimethicone , which is also a part of a lot of
foundations and other lotions, then do skip this.
When
you apply, it feels, sticky and as if, it’s not going to absorb ever, However,
after you have left it for few seconds, the stickiness is all gone and you are
left with matte finish as if you have not used anything at all.
Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel |
I
think this is the best feature of this gel sunscreen which I like, as I have used
other sunscreens as well and when I used to apply them, my skin used to feel
greasy which worsen when I was outdoors especially on humid days.
Even
after a couple of hours, there was no trace of oiliness, just the regular oil
that I usually get. (urghh my oily skin)
It
has SPF 20, I was thinking of variant with more SPF but this will do as of now.
It also says that it has extracts of babchi seed that are known to provide
protection against a wide range of UV rays.
I
like this product so far which is mostly due to its gel formula and it has not
break me out yet. I will update at the bottom of the post, if I face any such
issues later with this product.
So,
this makes me conclude that it is really good for the oily skinned people or
normal as well. For me It is the best sunscreens that I have used so far.
Pros of Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel for Oily skin:

- Travel friendly sturdy packaging
- Pump dispenser makes the usage easy and hygienic.
- It has SPF 20 with broad spectrum and babchi seeds extracts
- Gel formulation makes it suitable for oily skin
- It does not make skin greasy unlike the other regular sunscreens.
- It can be used on the body and the face.
- Feels very sticky while applying which soon turns into a matte finish after few second.
Cons of Lotus Herbals Sunscreen Gel for Oily skin:

My take:
It is the best sunscreen that I have used for my combination/oily skin that does not cause any greasiness even after a couple of hours like the usual sunscreens so, if you have oily skin which does not
make your skin sweat or feel greasy.
