L’Oreal Super Liner
Gelmatic Pen in Blue Force
Hey there!
The Cannes film
festival has been having an incredible about of Indian media coverage thanks to
the Indian L’Oreal ambassadors- Sonam Kapoor and Aishwariya Rai. Their
sartorial style choices have been praised by one and all. Makeup enthusiasts
have been positively rabid about the beauty looks sported and L’Oreal has taken
a very wise decision by launching their new lines in tandem.
The product I am
now going to review is one of the new gel liners introduced by the company. The
fact that it is the first retractable gel liner in the Indian market sets it
apart already but if it lives up to its 24 hours claim, then it may reach HG
status for many fashionistas!
Price: 425INR for 0.3 g
Claims: “L'Oreal
Paris introduces its first gel eye liner in a pen format. L'Oreal paris Gelmatic pen has quick, precise and
easy application combined with intense matte colour pay off for just a stroke
of audacity. Comes in five rich, luxurious shades. Automatic crayon with
precision tip for easy application Micro gel pigments formula for intense
colour pay off.
24H wear
Smudgeproof
Matte finish
My take on the
product: Let me start by saying that every black/brown eyed dusky beauty,
should have a jewel toned purple/blue liner in their makeup kits. It brings out
the undertones in their eyes and lends a sparkle with just a swipe!
Anyway, this
product is perfect to lend a sparkle to anyone’s eye! The navy blue colour with
the beautiful satin finish does not look OTT at all, and can look satin-y or
matte, depending on the lighting and intensity it is layered to.
The product lasts a
very decent 5-6 hours on my lower lashline and remains smudgeproof on my upper
lashline for 8+ hours. It would probably last up to 10 hours but I don’t really
keep makeup on for that long! While it
does not mention that it isn’t waterline safe, I am a tad reticent to use it on
my waterline, but being a gel liner I am certain it will last for atleast 3-4
hours.
The only serious
con about this product is its texture. It is really hard and not quite
emollient like one expects from a gel liner. This harsh texture can make the
liner drag on your sensitive lash line and can also make the liner prone to
breakage. But one can remedy this very simply. All you need to do is, keep it
in your jean pocket for a few minutes before application and your body heat
will make the liner more pliant. :p
All this being
said, the liner is certainly on the expensive side but the quality is also
pretty darn incredible. So my suggestion? Grab it before it sells out! ;)
