I will swatch this Pure color lipstick from Lotus Herbals in the shade carnation. Carnation is in fact, a very popular shade from this very affordable range. I got this 3 months ago and have already used half of it.

Price: These Lotus herbals Pure Color lipsticks are priced at 245 INR and you may get for less online. The price is similar to that of colorbar velvet matte lipsticks and lakme enrich satins.

It comes in a steel grey packaging with gold letters. No ways it looks cheap or boring! In fact I love their packaging which is sturdy enough.

Carnation is actually a plant’s name that bears pinky purple flowers however, this shade is a peachy color that will suit almost everyone and will not wash out may be a little to the dusky skinned beauties, though I am not sure.

When I used it for the first time I really liked its smells but sometimes it feels artificial, though it’s okay not that annoying. Now, It is a lipstick which I will say isn’t has buildable coverage. I mean, while using it for the first time, I swiped it twice and there was the color but if in case I have to intensify the color doesn’t matter how many swipes it put, it will just be the same. Reason being that I can think of, is that it has a sheer pigmentation and when you swipe more than also the color remains the same, intensity wise. Moreover, it’s a creamy matte so when you put more then it kind of looks patchy and gets patchier when you talk.

Formula is creamy so you don’t have to worry about your lips getting dry, it can take care of that.

Staying power is pretty good or I should say decent. It fades easily when you eat or drink without leaving a stain, don’t know if that’s good or bad. But I like something on my lips even if the lip color goes off. Since, I don’t wear too much makeup and lipstick is a must for me that instantly brighten the face.So, I use a stain and then use this.

You may see the hand swatch below which looks fantastic as it’s a flat even surface unlike the lips where is gets patchy.So, it’s best to use this shade by swiping once or twice and it performs decently. Not to forget, the color is great and beautiful daily wear one. As I mentioned, it has sheer pigmentation, it may not be able to fully cover your pigmented lips and if will apply more in order to do that it turns patchy.

Affordable so won’t hurt your pocket and you may also experiment with other colors.

Decent packaging which looks good to me.

Very beautiful peachy color

Will not wash out anyone may be duskier skin tones. (can’t say for sure though)

Creamy matte finish that hydrates your lips so dry lips bye bye!

Sheer light weight formula

Not so good points Lotus herbals Pure Color Lipstick Carnation:

May not be able to hide lip pigmentation completely

Gets patchy when you apply more in order to build the coverage or to intensify the color.

May be good or bad (it depends)

Doesn’t leave any stain

Smell gets little too much at times though fades away

My take:  Want an everyday wear peachy, lightweight color then definitely try it. It’s affordable and creamy matte to keep lips soft and supple though due to its sheer creamy formula you may have to apply it frequently!
