Hi all!!
You have an important day coming up where you have
to look flawless and beautiful and there you notice an angry red inflamed
pimple on your forehead on anywhere on the face, Arghh!! Annoying! Isn’t it?? You might have come across Himalaya Neem face wash
ads where the girl tries to hide it with every possible accessories that she
comes across.:D and then the face wash does magic and there are no pimples at all.. Amazing!!Combating acne and pimples isn’t easy, you have to
take care of the skin properly and not only the skin, but what you eat and
drink.
Prevention is necessary, but what if you already
have one popped out day before a big day!! I had so many of such instances
where I would feel some pain and redness on a particular place on my face and after a day or two there would be
a pimple emerging out in all it's glory, especially around my nose and jawline. (combi skin).
There are few tricks and methods that has proved to
be really helpful in getting rid or at least reducing the size of those occasional
zits and these are the tricks which I have myself tried and trust.
Here I am sharing some of them, hopfully it will help you out as well!
Benzoyl Peroxide: Put benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to reduce the
redness and inflammation. It actually works as a peeling agents and also reduces the bacterial growth. You may have seen them as one of the ingredients, 2.5 to 5 % in various face washes, scrubs that claims to reduce or prevent pimples like Clean and clear, Neutrogena and Cetaphil to name a few!
Ice treatment: If the pimple is painful, you may try rubbing ice
over the affected area. Ice treatment has proved to be really effcetive and also one of the easiest method to reduce the swelling and pain.
Clay or Mud packs: Using a clay pack or mask dries out the pimple and shrinks it to certain extent. There are so many clay
masks available in the market these days, I use Himalaya Herbals Mud pack…nope I
am not promoting the brand here, it’s what I have been using for the past couple of
months. Let your pack there to sit for around 15-20 minutes and then wash off.
This again helps in reducing the size and the redness of the pimple. Apply the pack only on the pimple or on the entire face.choice is yours!!
Toothpaste: Using a white toothpaste over the pimple will
definitely shrink it’s size and it’s also one of my favorite tricks to treat
pimple. It works like magic and in the morning you may see how it has changed
your angry little demon.:D
Baking Soda: Use baking soda and water paste and apply it over
the pimple and then it remain there for 5- 7 minutes and rinse off. There would be very milk tingling sensation but that's okay. but don't keep it for a longer time!
Now, I know how hard it is to resist the temptation to pop a pimple but Don’t touch, scratch or pop it else it can lead to
scarring which again will take days to fade out and you will end up concealing
them. (I myself have been struggling to resist it and now, I have kind of trained myself not to touch them. Yaaay!! :D )
To lighten the scar, you may apply some lemon juice over it, that’s what
I did last night as the pimple has bid adieu but left some mark which lime
juice can deginitely help. Lemons are just amazing whether you take them
internally or use them for your hair, face or body or even to brighten up your complexion!
These were my ways to take care of these occasional
zits, So, what you do to get rid of them! Do share it below!!

was battling acne for the past two months and it's finally clearing up. good post
ReplyDeleteThanks Coral. Even I was struggling to get rid of them 2 years ago and now, only get occasional ones.
DeleteAll the tips are simple yet effective. Very helpful post esp for the present weather. I used to use toothpaste but at times when it doesn't work for me, I prefer washing with a salicylic acid based facewash and apply something with clay to absorb the extra oil. ANd I agree, lemon works great for reducing the spots left behind and even sun screen helps by stopping further darkening.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Gagan, I use them myself before posting and they did a noticeable job for me! Not everything may work for all of us but still some of the treatments like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or clay may give good results.
