Belgian Chocolate Sugar scrub
Hi
all!!
Today,
I will review a product which isn’t new to those who subscribed for the January2013 Vellvette Box. This product was the Mardi Motives palette for that month, I
mean just like in the April box Mardi Gras palette was there in every box, same
was the case with this body scrub except for the fact that it wasn’t a treat
for most of us like the palette has proved to be.
Review
was pending as I haven’t used it until last week. So, I am all set to review it
but not as excited you will know why!
Price: 950 for 200 g This is the sample product
That I am reviewing here.
About the Product: Chocolate,
especially Belgian chocolate is a great antioxidant. Belgian chocolate soap
which as rich as the actual chocolate. It smells like chocolate! Full of
Luscious Oils to pamper your skin! Belgian Chocolate has skin softening
properties, probably as it contains cocoa butter. Naturally Pampering
Ingredients: Soap Base, Essential oil/Fragrance and Colour Best before 12
months from manufacture/100% Vegetarian
How to use: On slightly damp skin, rub scoopfuls
of the scrub in gentle circles - massaging the skin as you go. Shower off for

My
Experience: Like everyone who subscribed for the January vellvette box, I too
got this product. Earlier Iliked the Lush Sugar scrub that they have
send. It was very good to when I saw this I was like okay, I will use this. But
then, saw some reviews that it isn’t that great and user friendly which made me
forget about this scrub and it kept lying in the cupboard.
This
sample pack came in a tin round box, which I like and can be used for other
purposes as well!
It
smells like chocolate no doubt but has smell of other oils too like the Jojoba
oil in it. Fragrance is nice and soothing, but when I took some product out, it
was very thick with chunky sugar cubes, so while I tried using this in the shower,
it wasn’t an easy job, mainly because of those large chunks of sugar that
resists the circular massaging movement and not only that when you massage they
will just fall out, :/ creating a mess, though would dissolve and would be
washed off but the actually purpose of exfoliation wasn’t fulfilled well. I took
some in the palm and let them dissolve and get smaller so that at least it can
work out, somehow, it was done finally!!
After
the shower skin was smooth and smells nice but the efforts that I had to put
unnecessarily due to it’s big sugar crystals were not as pleasing.
I
would rather make a chocolate scrub myself my adding brown sugar and essential
oils to melted chocolate, which would have worked better and far more economical.
Anyways,
here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
It
Smells of chocolate (Belgian chocolate I should say!)
Moisturizes
and hydrates the skin
Exfoliates
till the time the sugar chunks stay in the massaging motion, if not fall out!
Skin feels smooth and silky.
Skin feels smooth and silky.
Cons:
Expensive
for the quantity.
Large
sugar cubes makes it difficult and messy to use
Rating: 3.25 out of 5
Last take: You can try it if you like chocholate scrubs but other options are also there!!
looks gud :) but price price!!

ReplyDeleteIt was rough and messy but still could do a decent job!!
Deletevery nice review :)
ReplyDeleteThank you dear.:)
DeleteSounds so delicious! But cubes look not small...
ReplyDeleteIt smells good but doesnt do a decent job!
Deletevery pricey
ReplyDeleteIt is dear for the things it cud not do.
DeleteYeah it looks so chunky I can imagine it falling off while scrubbing. May be it needed a little more dilution. And great idea, you actually can make a much much better scrub than this at home.
ReplyDeleteEven I did the same I thought I shud put it in the grinder but then put some water and let the sugar dissolve and get a Little smaller in size.
DeleteHome made are economical and better than this.:)
Nice REview dear and seems pricey for a scrub :( Neish
ReplyDeleteVery pricey for a scrub and the quantity too.:)
DeleteNice review Niesha :)
ReplyDeleteI HATE the scent of the scrub since I don't like chocolate much, but the scrub really does exfoliate and moisturize well though it needs to be used with care :)
Thank you Neha.:) Even i am not a fan of chocolate smell!
DeleteI agree they shud be used carefully!
Too expensive for my pocket
