Mascara with Fibers from Bornprettystore and Experience

Mascara with Fibers from Bornprettystore

Hello Everyone!

Few days ago, I received this interesting product from Bornprettystore.com. It’s a dual mascara set where in you get a transplanting gel (yup !! that’s what they claim and call it) and a other bottle has some fibres that can accentuate your lashes buy making them longer and thicker...
Price: $7.13..approximately you can say 360 INR...

Well!! The whole idea involved is pretty simple. The fibers are going to stick to your lashes followed by further coats of transplanting gel; they kind of make your lashes look longer and thicker.
Packaging: These bottles are packaged in a dark navy Blue color which indeed looks decently beautiful.
The smaller bottle contains white colored thin fibers. I guess they are nylon fibers. Though I have no idea what are material of fibers are!! Anyways..The bristles are arranged spirally on the wand, making it look like the regular spoolies that we often get in the makeup brush set.

The longer bottle, is the so called transplanting gel which I assume, is the regular mascara with the sole purpose of covering the fibres and simultaneously serving like a regular mascara.
The wand has straight stylus with tiny holes out of which couple of plastic bristles protrudes. This arrangement not only helps separating the lashes but gets rid of the extra fibers too.

Now that I have used it. I have sufficient experience with this product to share and how it fared after that of course!!
How to use: I am using such a product for the first time. Though few days back I have read a very nicely written review about a mascara that has a primer which is supposed to be used before the actual product. Fair enough!
It does come with all the instruction and step by step pictorial to show how to use it but since the language is alien to me or rather us. It’s of no use. (Pictorial is hard to understand without the written part).
Then I realized that the fibers are dry so they will definitely need a base to stick then followed by another coat of that gel to cover and separate them giving them the lashes a more finished look!
And magic! It worked.lol.. but it’s also mentioned on the product page too.. Which I ignored earlier!! :D
Experience: The transplanting gel is the regular mascara which we have to use first to make the lashes a bit moist I should say. There comes the role of the fiber bottle. I just used 2 coats or swipes of the fiber and you can see in the picture my lashes are coated with a lot of them just like the snowflakes over the pine tree.:) while doing that some of the fibers were over my contacts. :(
Trust me this was the reason for which I was quite skeptical about using this product with lenses on and it was scary but still I wanted to try this interesting product.

I must highlight this that even after using this my eyes were not red, which happens even with some eye shadows!!!  thankfully there was no such thing.
After that I used the gel again to cover and tame down the messy fibers.
When I end up applying 2 coats (more coats could have ruined and clumped the effect) I noticed My lashes were slightly longer but more thicker.
So yes, Agreed!! It gave falsies like look. But then there were some fibers still sticking out with some clumping. You can see all that in the pictures below:

Other than that there was no irritation or red eye as I said and safe so far.

All this makes me conclude that I personally don’t see myself using it frequently. May be some time, but totally depends on mood. But, it may prove to be a helpful product for those who have sparse, thin lashes. Still, I will not recommend it to use daily. Using it occasionally is perfectly fine.
I am skipping the pros and cons in general as I explained hopefully everything above and the pictorial may be helpful too.
Rating: 3 out of 5
My take: If you have thin and sparse lashes and are looking for a product that can help giving that effect to your lashes then you may consider it. For me, it's an occasional products!!

  5. The concept is quite interesting and you have explained with every possible detail and pics. I think most ppl will skip it for obvious reasons. But won't a 2step mascara will transparent gel base coat and regular mascara top coat give the same thickening effect i wonder.

    1. Thank you and Absolutely Gagan. I am with you, most people will! I might use it occasionally as I am more into hassle free products. :)
Yes that can work too but honestly, the same thickening effect can be achieved by Maybelline mascaras.

    2. Yes I agree. Most ppl love maybelline mascaras. But I am still smiling at ur description of fibres as snow on pine trees and the innovative mind behind this product :)

  9. Wowie! I've seen one from too faced I think that does the same but the fibers still show when girls comb it through really well and apply the mascara on top! I think it's not the best like that, better to get a fiber mascara that has the fiber in it and its black! Thanks for reviewing, I've heard bits about that brand before!

    1. Is it!! This brand was totally new to me but Even I think a fibrous mascara with black fibers would have been better. This way may be clumping could have been under check and also the fibers sticking out.
      Thanks for info Sharlynn. :D

    1. Earlier I was thinking it may not be suitable but I didn't have any red eye while I was with these on. and the fibers are like feather soft. so as per my understanding they should not have any side effects as such.. but due to the clumping and hassle I may not be using it quite often .:)

    1. I agree Ritika, even after the last coat the fibers are sticking out which for sure doesn't give it a polished look.
Thank you for that compliment, I can say that for you too..just saw your pretty pics on the blog!
