Friends, I am Setu Rohini from Mumbai, India. I am a Business Analyst by
profession and a blogger by passion. I am more like your girl next door who is
crazy about nail art, makeup and Do It Yourself beauty. I am inquisitive by
nature and so I experiment a lot to seek answers to all the curious hunches I
have about my passion. Welcome to my laboratory at http://thenailartandbeautydiaries.wordpress.com.
Do
you know a little trick I use to jazz up my nails? I throw in some golden and
it never fails. Refer my Royal Red nail art which was very easy and simple yet gave no compromise sexy look.
For this nail art I literally took my words seriously and threw in some golden
rather than perfectly polishing golden. Anyways, this nail art is also important because I learnt two lessons out
of it which I will share at the end. :)
Items Needed:
Items Needed:
•A
bright golden nail paint (I got a random bottle from Thailand and it worked
fab, again I was thrilled because I didn’t expect this cheap thing to be so good
:) )
•Bright
pink Acrylic paint or nail paint (Read about why to use acrylic paints here)
•Top
coat
How to Throw in the Golden Snow Cap
1.
I am finding it weird to write a
tutorial remembering what a half hearted effort this was. I wasn’t sure about
the quality of golden so I was prepared to see this nail art on the acetone
dipped cotton in no time. But this thing amazed me. Jokes apart, just do the
cutting, trimming and washing of your nails to begin with.
2. Do a base coat. Some of you may have
transparent polishes with a hint of pink, so don’t hide them. This is the
correct place to use them. Since this nail art doesn’t cover entire nail, the
pale pink color will keep up the fun spread throughout your nails.
3. Very randomly just start drawing random
strokes of golden starting from your nail tip. Do not cover the entire nail,
just about the half of it. The strokes shouldn’t end in one line; they should
be wavy and random.
4. After you have splashed the golden, just
dip the dotting tool/toothpick in bright pink (red would also do) and place
dots only on the golden part. Read about the tricks of using a
toothpick/dotting tool and the care that needs to be taken in my tutorial ‘Retro with Polka Dots Nail Art’.
Learning:
I
was planning to keep the nail art simple with just a few random strokes of
golden. I sent the pictures to my sister, and she said they looked incomplete
and ‘just good’. I felt low for my bad work, so the next day, I opened up pink
acrylic paint and decorated the golden territory with pink polka dots. My
sister was happy now. But when I showed this to my mother she said the dots
didn’t look good. It was much better with only golden earlier. So following are
my two learning:
•You
cannot please everyone. And most importantly, none of my nail arts was not so good;
they just meant different things to different people. So it brings me to the
conclusion that you should paint your fingers in whatever way you want. There
will always be someone liking and someone loathing it. So, open your heart up
and paint. If you hear someone not as happy with your work, always know there
is at least one other person for sure who is going to love it. That’s how open
hearted nail art is.
•Nail
art is NOT difficult ladies. It requires WILL more than SKILL. Believe me there
are nail arts which have taken less than 3 minutes to complete. But if I show
you all my nail arts you won’t be able to guess them. So nail art is not hard
work but smart work.

Beautiful Manicure Setu! I will definitely try it and I agree we can't please everyone but there would be still someone liking it!
